The Kendall Farmers Market is a new weekly-themed Farmers Market located at 8789 SW 117 Avenue, Miami, FL 33183 (in the parking lot of the Toys R Us property).
During the Grand Opening on September 8, 2018, themed ‘Block Party’ will include Miami-Dade Animal Service Hope Express Bus for a pet adoption rally, Miami-Dade Public Library System TECHNO Bus, live DJ, interactive-gameshow style games, and much more! In addition to the excitement of activities, there will be a raffle for donations provided to the Hope Express such as dog/cat food, blankets, toys and more.
Upcoming themes include:
- September 15, 2018. FAME Week, supports the Arts from visual to performing, with participating professional artists, organizations, and students.
- September 22, 2018, Culinary Dayz hosts local chef demonstrations, our version on Food Networks 'CHOPPED', healthy eating workshops, cook-offs, eating contests, and our soon to be released POP! program about local types of farming and DIY projects.
Throughout the season, September through April, there will be many community involved fundraisers and charity events benefiting local organizations such as Miami-Dade Animal Services, Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, Miami Rescue Mission, Nicklaus Children's Hospital and The Bonith Art Fund, a scholarship award program for high school and undergraduate students who wish to pursue Arts or Culinary related career fields, created by market manager Sarah Castillo in memory of her grandmother.
The Kendall Farmers Market rely solely on vendors fees, sponsorships and fundraising efforts to run this seasonal market. Sponsorships help with marketing efforts to increase the market’s visibility around South Florida and grow further as the largest community involved farmers market in South Florida.
