Welcome to the Norwegian Bliss

Designed for the Ultimate Cruising Experience

Norwegian Cruise Line has added a new ship to their fleet, and it is not only fantastic, it is Bliss!

I’ve been on many cruises. I stopped counting after fifteen. Why so many cruises you ask? I think that when it comes to family vacations cruising is the best value. There are lots of activities for each family member and we always have tons of fun on a cruise.  Besides, we simply love cruising.  So it’s no surprise that I jumped at the chance when I was invited to participate in the 3 days 2-night inaugural preview cruise on the Norwegian Bliss when it arrived in Miami.

From the Observation Lounge to the race track at sea, to the open air laser tag, to the Aqua Park, to the restaurants and entertainment, the Norwegian Bliss is like no other cruise ship I’ve been on.

Imagine the exhilaration of being on a water slide that extends beyond the boundaries of the ship, going so fast that your body makes a “swoosh, swoosh” sound as the slide loops down to the deck below and back up. And if that’s not enough excitement for you, take a turn around the race track. The Bliss has the largest competitive race track at sea that twists and turns from the top of deck 19 down to deck 18 and back up all in an electric-car capable of speeds up to 30 miles per hour. This makes for some serious racing and awesome family fun! There’s also a fantastic abandoned spaceship themed open-air laser tag course where family and friends can compete with state-of-the-art laser guns day or night to keep the fun and competitive spirit going.

I love trying different restaurants and my favorite pastime while on vacation is to relax in a quiet place with a good book and a mojito. So my first order of business once I get on board a ship is to scope out the restaurants and lounges. The choices of restaurants on the Norwegian Bliss include new exclusive specialty dining and bar concepts such as the debuting Texas smokehouse – Q, the cruise line’s first full-service Starbucks® store at sea, and Coco’s – a chocolate and sweet treats shop. I had the most delicious dinner of ribs, complete with fried green tomatoes and cornbread at Q Texas Smokehouse! Dinner at Teppanyaki was loud, hilarious and oh so much fun as our chef kept us singing and laughing while he prepared the best tasting Teppanyaki I've ever had! Q and Teppanyaki are defnitely not to be missed restaurants on the Bliss.

There is so much to love on the Bliss but my very favorite is the ultra fabulous, 3,500-square-foot Observation Lounge with its 180-degree views. The décor, the library, the light bites, the bar, the wait staff, the seating, everything was not only perfect, it was blissful! I did not want to leave. I would have spent the entire cruise in the Observation Lounge sipping on mojitos if I could.  Yes, I will be back and you know just where to find me.
