What does it take to feel like a kid again? For me it was simple, all it took was popcorn, cotton candy, lemonade and a great circus experience. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents Built to Amaze! is in town and you don’t want to miss this show! Now through January 20th at the American Airlines Arena you can experience the143rd edition of the Greatest Show On Earth! I was thrilled to have been invited to the opening night and I took my family along for an unforgettable experience. This performance was extra special to me because it was my son’s Adrian (9 months) and my one year old nephew Liam’s first time at the circus. My nine year old son Javian, and 5 year old niece Mia who were also with me had been to the circus before. 
We arrived an hour before the show for the “All Access Pre-Show” and we were able to see a few of the circus performers up close, take pictures with them and watched an elephant make a painting right in front of us. My family was amazed even before the show started! Then with our treats in hand, clown noses and clown hats we took our seats. Andre McClain, the 38th Ringmaster for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, began the show with a colorful parade of performers and animals.
The entire show was truly amazing and captivated the attention of the entire audience. The babies were mesmerized by the music of the live band, the colors of the costumes and the beautiful aerialist. They clapped the entire time! The older kids were stunned throughout the show… I’m positive they did not blink when the Danguir Troupe was on the High Wire 25 feet in the air nor when the acrobat, Mustafa jumped a car length distance over four troupe members!
As for the adults, we laughed, clapped, danced and our jaws dropped a few times because there were moments in which we couldn’t believe our eyes. All of the performances were outstanding! My favorite performances were the acrobats on a 46-foot Double Wheel of Steel: they did flips, jumped and made a human pyramid as the wheels rotated at more than 25 miles per hour.
Now that I think about it, I had a lot more favorite performances but I don’t want to give them all away.
